The project involves the Refurbishment & Part Demolition of a former public house to form a new innovation centre achieving a very good BREEAM rating. The project comprises of soft strip demolitions to enable the internal reinforced foundations to be carried out together with the infill of the existing basement. The bulk of the main structural steel will be installed in small sections which will provide the necessary support to the building enabling us to design out the temporary propping that was originally proposed by the client’s engineers. The existing floors and remaining internal walls will then be removed to allow the rest of the steel to be inserted, the new floor to be fitted.
