Administrator

Location: Lincoln
Department: Facility, Repairs and Maintenance

The Gelder Group, a modern forward thinking construction company require an Administrator to work at our Head Office in Sturton by Stow.

Role Overview:

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

Requirements: Efficient, well-organized, with excellent telephone skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Skills: Ability to thrive under pressure, with strong administration and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to Contracts Managers.
  • Handle day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls.
  • Liaise with customers, subcontractors, and clients.

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to work methodically in a very busy environment.
  • Reliable, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Own transport required (location not serviced by public transport).

Desirable Experience:

Previous experience in the construction industry.

Insurance Surveyor - Lincoln

Location: Lincoln
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

The Gelder Group is a diverse mixture of divisions and companies all orientated around the delivery of high quality customer excellence in the construction industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an ever-expanding insurance team based in Lincoln and working the surrounding areas.

You will be part of an established dedicated team dealing with insurance repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, be able to work to tight timescales, use your own initiative and always carry out work at a high standard. Experience with surveying Insurance related repairs would be an advantage but full training will be given.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to (full job role training will be provided):

  • Validating, settling and scheduling domestic and commercial insurance claims.
  • Working directly with several insurance companies and networks. Claims such as subsidence, flood, fire, escape of water, impact, accidental damage, storm etc.
  • Producing schedules, final accounts, variations, interim payment claims, private quotations and health and safety documentations
  • Carrying out moisture readings
  • Offering professional advice to clients and policy holders.

Essential skills:

  • Knowledge of Xactimate and Microsoft Office packages especially Outlook and Excel would be an advantage, but training will be given.
  • Great telephone manner
  • Pride yourself on great customer service and ensure your work is done to the highest standard.
  • Good communication skills, time management and organisation.

Apprentice Accounts Assistant

Location: Lincoln
Department: Accounts

40 hours Monday-Friday

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our finance team as an Apprentice Accounts Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard. You’ll support the day-to-day running of the accounts function and gain insight into various aspects of financial administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with processing invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations
  • Data entry and updating accounting systems
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes
  • Communicating with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
  • General administrative duties to support the finance department

About You:

  • A keen interest in finance and accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and good numeracy skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 4/C or above

Contracts Manager - Commercial Department

Location: Lincoln
Department: Commercial

Our Commercial department are actively seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, in budget and to a high quality.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years experience. You will work on a wide range of different projects, including refurbishment, new builds and maintenance, all within a wide range of different sectors. At any one time you will be responsible for overseeing a number of projects ranging from £50k-£5m.

Responsibilities include:

  • Formulating contract programmes, procurement of subcontractor and material schedules
  • Issuing of progress reports
  • Working closely with the project team including; Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Buyers and Health & Safety Manager
  • Ensuring that projects are completed to the required standard, on time and within budget
  • Ensuring that all health & safety regulations are maintained
  • Representing the company in a professional / polite manner at all meetings
  • Ensuring that our I.S.O quality assurance procedures are adhered to
  • To assist with the project team with value engineering and construction methods to ensure that margins are achieved / exceeded on all projects
  • Must hold valid UK driving licence, a current SMSTS and CSCS card would be desirable.

Contracts Manager - FRM dept Lincoln

Location: Lincoln
Department: Facility, Repairs and Maintenance

Our Facility, Repairs and Maintenance department are actively seeking an experienced Contracts Manager/Surveyor with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, in budget and to a high quality.

Job Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage work orders originating from councils, housing associations, estate agents, land agents and similar entities. These tasks encompass managing reactive repairs and maintenance, utilising both an in-house team of tradespeople and external subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contracts in line with client requirements and Gelder processes and procedures ensuring the works are completed to the required standard, on time and within budget.
  • Be able to evaluate the repairs required and prepare a corresponding priced schedule of works utilising various portal.
  • Agree start and completion dates in line with contracts / schedules based on client requirements and ensure the data base is updated.
  • Issue any relevant notices for delays or direct / specific instructions from the client / contractor that may influence the project.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are maintained.
  • Provide written sub-contract or works orders. Liaise with the admin team / buyer to issue orders as required.
  • Deal with site issues and snagging in line with the contract requirements to ensure all works are completed in a timely manner the first time.
  • Raise follow on works from visits with diagnosing repair and scheduling work within set timeframes.

This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you may be required to carry out other tasks in accordance with the needs of the organization. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in respect of your role.
