Contracts Manager

Location: Lichfield
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

£EXCELLENT + Car

The Gelder Group is looking for a Contracts Manager to head up their domestic insurance repairs department. This is a newly created position and reflects the growth of the domestic, insurance based, property repairs market. Reporting to the Branch Manager, and working closely with Insurance Surveyors, your role will be to manage a team of tradesmen. You will have proven experience in construction project management, together with a knowledge of managing insurance repairs. A company car is provided for travel to projects around Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.

Key responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Insurance Surveyors
  • Brief project teams (tradesmen and sub-contractors)
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • Negotiate with suppliers
  • Manage resources to ensure projects are completed within strict budget guidelines

Personal Specification:

  • Excellent communication skills, at all levels, both written and verbal
  • Good analytical skills and negotiation skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • A proven track record, in the construction industry, of delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Thorough, with a strong attention to detail and commercially astute

Site Manager

Contracts Manager

Location: Lincoln

The Gelder Maintenance are actively seeking an experienced contracts manager with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, in budget and to a high quality.

Experience in contracts management of projects under £800,000 is required in:

Educational Care Retail Commercial Housing schemes Responsibilities include:

Formulating of contract programmes, procurement of subcontractor and material schedules Issue of progress reports Chairing & minuting of supply chain meetings Working closely with the project team including:- Site Managers Quantity Surveyors Buyers Health & Safety Managers Ensuring that projects are completed to the required standard, on time and within budget Ensuring that all health & safety regulations are maintained Representing the company in a professional / polite manner at all meetings Ensuring that our I.S.O quality assurance procedures are adhered to To assist with the project team with value engineering and construction methods to ensure that margins are achieved / exceeded on all projects.

Claims Handler

Location: Lincoln
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

Wage: £16,500
Hours: 8 hours per day between 8am-6pm

Working for this privately owned company, who pride themselves on staff development and recognition, you will be the "linchpin" who co-ordinates activity and personnel involved in the world of insurance claims. You will be responsible for liaising with the general public, Company Surveyors, Loss Adjusters and Contracts Managers on a daily basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of friendly individuals providing a first class service to their new and existing customer base. The ideal candidate may come from either an insurance or legal background where accuracy is essential.

Personal specification:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Good communication skills written and verbal
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are a vital personal trait, together with an understanding and sympathetic manner
  • Excellent and accurate data entry skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • To liaise with general public regarding insurance claims
  • Take responsibility for surveyor's diaries and co-ordinate meetings/site visits
  • Allocate jobs to Contracts Managers and liaise with them on a daily basis
  • Act as liaison between the Insured and all contractors
  • Set up new claims onto the system
  • Monitor all claims on a daily basis, ensuring work is carried out within budget
  • Adhere to data protection legislation.

This is not a "pure" administrative vacancy, you will need to be composed, level headed, and possess a calm demeanour.

Plumber

Apprentice Mechanic

Location: Lincoln
Department: All Departments

Wage: £3.50 per hour

Working week: 40 hours between 07.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday for 16-18 year olds, more hours may be required for older candidates.

Working in our modern busy Workshop.

The role:

  • Service, maintain and repair an extensive fleet of light commercial vehicles and cars
  • Be competent to fill out paperwork in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure vehicle jobs are completed in the required time and standard.
  • Be flexible to new challenges.
  • Overtime as and when required.

Qualifications required:

  • GCSE A - C or equivalent in Maths and English is preferable but not essential.
  • A driving licence is preferable but not essential, please note our office's in Sturton by Stow are not on any form of public transport route so you would need to take into account how you're going to get to work.

Things to consider:

  • Work based learning (NVQ) via Lincoln College, course will be Apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2.
  • This vacancy for the right candidates could lead to full time employment at the end of the apprenticeship.

Gas Engineer with Plumbing Experience

Location: Lincoln
Department: Maintenance

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced gas engineer with plumbing experience.

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Identifying a wide range of commercial and domestic plumbing problems.
  • Carrying out gas work on both domestic and commercial boiler systems.
  • Gas safety services
  • Boiler installation and diagnosing boiler faults.
  • New installations.
  • Working on a call emergency call out rota.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years working experience within the industry and be able to provide checkable references, possess excellent customer service skills and be highly presentable.

Must hold a full UK Driving License.
