Description
Gelder successfully carried out the gym provision works whilst keeping the stations operational. We worked closely with staff and held regular meetings with our client representatives to review and address any issues arising from our works to ensure this was a smooth process for all concerned. All staff working on this project were subjected to the NPPV2 vetting process and fully briefed to ensure the security protocols were followed to reduce the security risks associated with working in live Police stations. Part of the works included the refurbishment of storage and locker rooms areas. Gelder again worked closely with the station’s personnel to create temporary storage areas within the station to allow this work these refurbishment works to take place.
The gym provision works to Skegness, Grantham and Boston Police Stations were required to be carried out simultaneously. To make this process as efficient and effective as possible we staged the start date for each station, so that we could utilise the same skilled labour on each project. This allowed for a uniformly high standard of finish and continuous working across the three stations.
