As part of our Vision 2017, Gelder Group had one goal, the “Redleg Challenge” which was to be set by our staff. After receiving dozens of great suggestions, the Senior Management Team picked a suggestion that really focused on the Gelder Group’s commitment to training and apprentices. The suggestion was “to empower our apprentices from around the company and also from the Construction Careers College to undertake a massive construction project to redesign and renovate River Cottage’s ground floor.”
We’ve been planning and designing the renovations for some time and on Monday 26th March 2018 the work commenced. The project will involve modernising the entire ground floor of River Cottage and will include creating an extra meeting room, a more functional kitchen and a break-out area for training and meeting attendees. This work will all be completed by our talented apprentices with supervision allowing them to hone their craft further and gather evidence and experience towards their apprenticeships.
If you’re interested to know more about this exciting project, please get in touch.
Every member of the team at Gelder Group has, or will soon receive a bottle of appreciation from the Senior Management Team as a ‘thank you’ for both their individual contribution to Vision 2017 and for earning the Group the title of Lincolnshire’s fastest expending company.
Work on the Group’s next Vision is now underway and this will be launched early in the New Year and will coincide with the companies 30 years in business celebrations.
On 17th July 2014, with the help of HRH The Princess Royal, we made some bold statements of how the Gelder Group would look come the summer of 2017.
To mark the completion of our 20by17 Vision we’ve released this 4 minute video to showcase how we got on.
Thank you to everyone, customers, suppliers, subcontractors and employees for your help with making the past three years so special.
In 2014 the Gelder Group launched its 2017 Vision and as part of that Vision made a conscience decision to only support charities and requests for donations that came directly from its own staff. Since that time the company have donated over £12,000 to forty charities.
The latest donation followed a request from staff member Stewart Loughton (Quantity Surveyor) to support the Greenbank Under 11’s Football Team and we were delighted to assist with a donation of equipment.
On the donation Stewart Loughton commented:
Just wanted to say a massive thanks for the extremely kind donation by the Gelder Group which has provided the team with some much needed new training equipment. The kids were chuffed to bits with it all last night at training so it is very much appreciated.

The Report ranks businesses by the percentage growth in profitability over the last three years and includes both established and up-and-coming businesses. This year’s report has placed Gelder Group 21st for the whole of East Midlands which is the highest ranking company in Lincolnshire.
On the report, Steve Gelder (CEO) commented:
July 2014 saw us, with some assistance from HRH The Princess Royal, launch a 3 year, 2017 Vision for the Gelder Group. We are now at the conclusion of three years hard work which has re-energised the business and transformed our fortunes. Numerous local and national awards for customer service, the quality of our product and the amount of apprentices we employ have been secured and now we learn that we are Lincolnshire’s fastest expanding company – it’s been a remarkable period. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our hard working staff, committed Senior Management Team and customers, it’s been a great past 12 months, thank you!
