Description
Yarborough Leisure Centre is a popular fitness and recreational facility located in the heart of Lincoln. The centre has been serving the local community for over three decades, offering a wide range of facilities such as gym, sports halls, fitness studios, and swimming pool. In 2022, the management of Yarborough Leisure Centre decided to refurbish its swimming pool to improve the facilities and provide a better experience for its users.
The Yarborough Leisure Centre swimming pool was built in the 1980s and had not undergone any major refurbishment since then. Over the years, the pool had developed various issues with poor ventilation, and outdated facilities. These issues had resulted in poor user experience and high maintenance costs. Therefore, the management decided to refurbish the pool to improve its functionality, safety, and aesthetics.
The Gelder Group was awarded the contract to refurbish the Yarborough Leisure Centre swimming pool. The project team consisted of a Contracts Manager, Site Manager, and a team of skilled technicians, plumbers and specialist sub-contractors.
The Yarborough Leisure Centre pool refurbishment project was completed in October 2022, within the budget and meet the deadline set by the client of having it open for January 2023. The refurbished pool and changing rooms have received positive feedback from the users, who appreciate the improved aesthetics, accessibility, and hygiene. The new pool filtration and ventilation system has reduced energy consumption by 30% and improved air quality, resulting in a more comfortable and healthier environment for the users. The project has also improved the reputation and competitiveness of the Yarborough Leisure Centre, attracting more users and generating more revenue for the management.
