Lincolnshire is a fabulous county which boasts a wonderful mix of countryside, coast, market towns, with a university at its heart – has worked its magic and attracted more couples to move North and make their home in the county.
Retirees Mr and Mrs Jerome and Mr and Mrs Boichat are the first to snap-up new properties on Gelder Group’s smart new Nettleton Fields development in Nettleton, on the doorstep of Caistor.

Clive and Jill Jerome formerly lived between Portsmouth and Southampton and discovered the delights of Lincolnshire when they decided to take a break.
“We decided to go on holiday after Covid. The West Country is crowded so we thought we would go somewhere new and we decided to come up to Lincolnshire, an area which we had not been to before,” said Clive.
“We looked at areas around Lincoln and we wanted to find a bungalow. We had a list of essential features we were looking for and ideally, we wanted to find a smallish village with good access. When we saw our three-bedroomed bungalow at Nettleton Fields, we thought “wow.”
Clive said it was by sheer chance that they found a property which “ticked all the boxes” during a day out – the perfect property close to the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.”
Neighbours Brian and Vera Boichat had originally had a bungalow in mind, but missed one opportunity and, after looking online, were tempted to view the four-bedroomed house, next door to Clive and Jill’s bungalow.
Vera said: “For years, our son and his family, had wanted us to move closer to them, but we never had,” said Vera.
“Latterly, we lived in a four-bedroomed house in Cannock Chase in Staffordshire. It was a lovely home which many people nearby admired. That is probably why we were able to sell it in just two days.
“Whilst we had been searching for another property, our son, who lives in the Nettleton area had also been looking and had spotted the Nettleton Fields development. So we visited the site, having originally thought we would move to a bungalow.
“However, we also looked up the site on the internet and finally viewed the available four-bedroomed house. We liked the quality and layout of the property and decided we would buy it, to the delight of our family,” said Vera.
“They are absolutely thrilled that we have moved here and, in fact, we can’t keep them away!” she joked.
The Boichats have been checking out the many facilities on offer in nearby Caistor and say they have found local people very friendly and sociable. The couple, who enjoy playing bowls, have also received a warm welcome at Caistor Bowls Club, which has encouraged them to become members.
