Gelder Group proudly celebrated the completion and official opening of Sincil House, a new housing development designed to provide safe, supported accommodation for people with a history of rough sleeping in Lincoln.
Located on the historic site of the former Golden Cross pub in the High Street, the £2.65 million development marks Gelder Group’s first major project for the charity Framework. Sincil House features 15 modern self-contained flats, including two fully accessible units, alongside shared spaces such as a communal kitchen, living room, and laundry facilities. The development allows residents to keep pets, reflecting a supportive and social approach to homelessness care.
Staffed around the clock, Sincil House provides tailored support to vulnerable individuals with complex needs. The on-site team helps residents regain stability, achieve independence, engage with the community, and improve their overall quality of life.
The opening ceremony was attended by Gelder Group CEO Steve Gelder, Contracts Manager Matt Hodgkins, and Site Manager Jamie Cocks, alongside Framework representatives and local councillors. Guests had the opportunity to tour the development and learn more about its services.
The ribbon was officially cut by Councillor Naomi Tweddle, Leader of the City of Lincoln Council, with Framework Chief Executive Andrew Redfern and Deputy Chief Executive Claire McGonigle welcoming the new facility. Sincil House represents Framework’s fifth major capital investment in Lincoln, taking their total contribution to homelessness accommodation in the city to nearly £10 million.
Gelder Group CEO Steve Gelder said:
It has been a pleasure to deliver our first development for Framework, an organisation that makes a real difference to those in need of support.
The site was once home to the Golden Cross pub, a well-known spot for Lincoln City Football Club supporters, so it’s no surprise the project has attracted a great deal of local interest. This new development continues that tradition of serving the community, and we’re proud of the quality and care that has gone into bringing it to life.
