Gelder Group has taken another significant step towards sustainability and operational efficiency with the acquisition of 20 Mercedes-Benz Vito 114 CDI extra-long wheelbase (L3) vehicles. This investment underscores the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of performance and reliability across its fleet.

The Mercedes-Benz Vito 114 CDI L3 variant is renowned for its energy-efficient features, making it an ideal choice for Gelder Group’s expanding operations. Equipped with a 1.7-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, the Vito delivers 136 hp and 330 Nm of torque, providing a powerful yet economical drive. The 7-speed automatic (7G-TRONIC PLUS) transmission enhances fuel efficiency while ensuring smooth performance.

With a fuel consumption rate of just 6.8 litres per 100 km (34.8 mpg) and CO2 emissions as low as 179 g/km, the new fleet supports Gelder Group’s sustainability initiatives. Additionally, the inclusion of AdBlue technology reduces nitrogen oxide emissions, further aligning with the company’s goal to minimise its carbon footprint.

“These new vans will make a real difference—not just in how we work, but in how we look after the environment,” said Martin Ward, Fleet Manager at Gelder Group. “They’re fuel-efficient, spacious, and reliable, which means our team can get the job done more effectively while cutting down on emissions.”

This investment is part of Gelder Group’s broader strategy to modernise its fleet with an additional 20 vehicles on order for summer delivery.
