The Half Moon in Willingham kindly agreed to host a Charity Quiz night on the 9th of March, the Quiz in aid of St Barnabas and The Gelder Charitable Trust raised £1,134.20 from entry fees, raffles and a silent auction. The pub was packed with Gelder staff and local residents who answered a range of questions on sport and general knowledge after enjoying ‘Pie & Peas’ and ‘Sausage and Mash’ from the chef at the pub.
On the Quiz, Wendy Gelder, organiser and Gelder Charitable Trust Board member commented:
The evening was fantastic fun, the quiz master Rob Sanderson who is a Contracts Manager for Gelder Group did a fantastic job of keeping the quizzers laughing between rounds. We are delighted we’ve been able to raise so much money from one event and we will definitely be putting on another Quiz night soon.
Deborah from St Barnabas hospice’s fundraising team stated:
We are very grateful for the fantastic amount of £562.10 which was raised, this will fund 14 hours of patient care in a hospice.
