Description
The extension to form the wedding facility was onto a listed building. It consisted of glulam trusses, which due to their size had to be constructed on site and seated on stainless steel columns. The envelope was cladded with traditional brickwork to the road elevation and sliding glazed screens to the courtyard elevation with elements of hard wood timber boarding to add additional detail and interest. Both internally and externally, the finishes are of an extremely high standard, ensuring that the new building sits comfortably around its surroundings of significant architectural importance.
Careful liaison was required for the duration of the contract to ensure that the day-to-day business of the adjacent Grade 1 listed Hall, farm shop, coffee shop and gardens received minimal disruption.
