Gelder Group was pleased to support a fundraising initiative organised by Rykneld Homes to help raise funds for Pilsley Community Under 10s Football Club. The fundraiser took the form of a World Cup sweepstake, with money raised being used to provide training kit and coats for the young players ahead of the 2026/27 season. Gelder Group sponsored the prize fund for the sweepstake, helping ensure that more of the money raised could go directly towards supporting the grassroots football team.
The initiative was brought to Gelder Group’s attention by Dan Crossley, Director of Property Services at Rykneld Homes, as an opportunity for the two organisations to work together to support the local community. Steve Gelder MBE FCGI, Chief Executive Officer of Gelder Group, said:
We are always pleased to support initiatives that make a positive difference within local communities. Grassroots sport plays such an important role in giving young people the opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork and new skills, so we were delighted to sponsor the prize fund and support Pilsley Community Under 10s.
It is also a great example of how working collaboratively with our clients and partners can help us extend the social value we deliver beyond our construction projects.
Gelder Group would like to wish Pilsley Community Under 10s every success for the 2026/27 season and hopes the new training kit and coats will be put to good use throughout the year.
