Gelder Group is proud to have supported Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service (LFR) by donating the use of a flatbed vehicle to assist with its annual Christmas charity collection in Saxilby.
The vehicle was used across the weekend of 13 and 14 December and played a central role in the event, transporting Santa’s sleigh and reindeer as they travelled through the village alongside a fire appliance. The festive convoy proved a highlight for local families and children, helping to create a memorable community event during the Christmas period.
Thanks to the success of the collection, LFR raised an impressive £3,167, with funds being donated to The Fire Fighters Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Phil Siddall of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
The vehicle was ideal and the perfect size for us to fit Santa’s sleigh and reindeer, which the children of Saxilby thoroughly enjoyed. This event could only have gone ahead thanks to Gelder Group’s generosity and support.
Gelder Group is committed to supporting local communities and charities across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, and is pleased to have played a part in an event that brought people together while raising vital funds for two important charities.
The Group would like to congratulate Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service and all volunteers involved on the success of the event and the funds raised.
