A promising young tradesperson, Tom, has taken a significant step in his career journey, beginning his work placement at the former Golden Cross public house on High Street. Referred by InspireU, Tom joins Gelder Group as part of an initiative to support aspiring construction professionals through hands-on experience in real-world projects.
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, Tom will play a role in the transformation of the site, which is being redeveloped as part of a wider regeneration effort. His placement will involve assisting with structural work, and site preparations, allowing him to gain valuable experience across multiple trades.
The development will see the former public house demolished and replaced with a 15-bed supported housing facility, complete with on-site management and parking. This project not only enhances local infrastructure but also provides essential accommodation for those in need, making it a meaningful and impactful build.
