In December 2009 Sam White won Apprentice of the Year and featured in our Winter Newsletter (as seen in the photograph). At the time Sam was an Apprentice Joiner and after completing his course he became self-employed and worked in undertaking Insurance and shop-fitting, until joining a Social Housing Group and working his way up to Void Supervisor, then Contracts Manager and eventually Office Manager. The job pulled Sam from home and making a commitment to his 3 year old little girl he left the company to work for the contractor closer to home working on a multi-million pound contract until it was completed. He has now returned to Gelder Group as a Contracts Manager within out Insurance Repair and Renovation Division with a wealth of experience.
On returning to Gelder Group Sam commented:
The best part about the role so far is the new challenges that I face. Most of the skills I have luckily transferred over, but insurance work is a completely different entity. It’s been so nice to come back to where I started and everyone at Gelders have welcomed me back and its nice to see faces I remember from when I was here all those years ago.
