After recently completing work to create eight guest rooms at Thonock Park in Gainsborough, Gelder Group are now undertaking further refurbishment works to the main building. The extensive works are being undertaken within a very tight schedule of four weeks, ensuring all work is complete in readiness for the club’s busy, winter events calendar. The works include a new storm lobby, refurbishment of the ground floor and first floor and a new reception area.
Contracts Manager for the project, Joe Allmond, commented:
With the timescales involved, there is no margin for error in this project. Thonock Park is still open and our workforce is mindful that the club is constantly in use, so health and safety is at the forefront of each section of the refurbishment. We are on schedule to complete on time and deliver the facilities the club has requested.
Our staff support many charities and as a company (and as part of our Vision 2020) we want to be able to support them to pursue their charitable endeavours. So, when Gary Rousseau (Contracts Manager) requested to enter a team in the Charity Golf Day at his local club ‘Blankney‘, the company was delighted to be able to support him and the charity Prostate Cancer UK. The formidable team led by Gary also included Joe Kendal (Surveyor), Paul Staines (Contracts Manager) and Arran Fullwood (Finance Director). On the day Gary commented:
We didn’t perform as well as I hoped on the day with new players Joe and Arran in the ranks, but it was a great day and I was just happy that the company supported us to attend and we were able to raise money for a great charity.
The weather was shining on the 10th July for the annual Streets Accountants golf day at Lincoln Golf Club. The Maintenance team entered a seasoned team of players which included Gary Rousseau, Shaun Cass, James Flintham and Paul Staines who individually and as a team managed to win several prizes on the day. Paul and Gary out-played the golf pro to win a set of Pro V1’s. James, Shaun and Paul won 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively in the individual tournament and overall the team collected the top prize on the day with an unbelievable score of 94.
On the win the Construction Director Dave Gladwin commented:
I’m so please with the teams achievement, we’ll look forward to defending the title next year.
Well played, guys!
