Health & Safety Co-Ordinator

About the Role
Gelder Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join our team, based at our Head Office near Lincoln. This is a pivotal position providing health and safety support across all divisions of the business – Insurance Repair & Renovation, Commercial (including New Builds), and Facilities, Repairs & Maintenance (FRM).
The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with current legislation, and supporting management in maintaining safe systems of work throughout the organisation. This role requires regular travel to our regional offices in Barlborough and Lichfield, as well as various project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide competent and professional health and safety advice to management and operational teams.
- Prepare, review, and implement Construction Phase Plans in line with CDM Regulations.
- Conduct site audits and inspections, producing clear reports and recommendations.
- Support the development and delivery of training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Assist in the investigation of incidents and near misses, ensuring appropriate actions are implemented.
- Maintain and update company health and safety policies, procedures, and records.
- Liaise effectively with internal colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate or an equivalent Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (essential).
- Previous experience within a construction or property services environment.
- Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a professional and calm approach.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to company sites and regional offices as required.

The Commercial department are looking to appoint an experienced site manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a privately owned company, who believe in staff recognition and development. The company, instigated in 1988, has developed and grown, through a reputation of quality workmanship.
As a Site Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing on-site operations and ensuring the successful execution of construction projects within budget and on Programme.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example on Health & Safety and provide and undertake regular team briefings to ensure all staff are aware of daily/weekly expectations and encompass Health & Safety.
- Manage on-site operations and provide guidance on quality and productivity issues.
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project plans and programme.
- Maintain all statutory records on a daily/weekly basis as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Previous experience of successfully delivering Commercial projects within multiple sectors
- Must hold a current SMSTS and CSCS card
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate
- Confident IT skills

The Role:
As Bid Writer, you will play a pivotal role in securing work for Gelder Ltd. You will:
- Work closely with estimators and the wider pre-construction team to prepare compliant, compelling bid submissions.
- Write and edit persuasive quality responses tailored to client requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the quality elements of bids for projects ranging from £100k to circa £10m.
- Ensure all submissions are completed to the highest standard and delivered on time.
- Support continuous improvement by maintaining and developing a library of bid content.
