Insurance Surveyor - Based Lincoln or Barlborough

Location: Lincoln
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

Lincoln or Barlborough based

The Gelder Group is a diverse mixture of divisions and companies all orientated around the delivery of high quality customer excellence in the construction industry.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join an ever-expanding insurance team based in either Lincoln or Barlborough and working the surrounding areas.

You will be part of an established dedicated team dealing with insurance repairs. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, be able to work to tight timescales, use your own initiative and always carry out work at a high standard. Experience with surveying Insurance related repairs would be an advantage but full training will be given.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to (full job role training will be provided):

  • Validating, settling and scheduling domestic and commercial insurance claims.
  • Working directly with several insurance companies and networks. Claims such as subsidence, flood, fire, escape of water, impact, accidental damage, storm etc.
  • Producing schedules, final accounts, variations, interim payment claims, private quotations and health and safety documentations
  • Carrying out moisture readings and asbestos sampling.
  • Offering professional advice to clients and policy holders.

Essential skills:

  • Knowledge of Xactimate and Microsoft Office packages especially Outlook and Excel would be an advantage, but training will be given.
  • Great telephone manner
  • Pride yourself on great customer service and ensure your work is done to the highest standard.
  • Good communication skills, time management and organisation.
  • Good understanding of asbestos containing materials and asbestos awareness, but training will be given.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Lincoln
Department: Commercial

Salary: Competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience

Gelder Ltd are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven professional to play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects while supporting the wider commercial team.

Gelder deliver projects across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, leisure, retail, refurbishment, and social housing, providing high-quality construction and refurbishment solutions for both public and private sector clients.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender stage through to final account. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
  • Monitoring the commercial performance of projects and reporting to the commercial team
  • Producing monthly valuations for completed work and arranging payments
  • Reviewing monthly sales forecasts and preparing profit reports
  • Pricing and managing variations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Procuring subcontractors and obtaining subcontract quotations
  • Managing subcontractor accounts and agreements
  • Supporting and managing the final account process to maximise project return
  • Carrying out site surveys and taking off quantities from specifications and drawings
  • Producing and maintaining project cash flow forecasts
  • Attending internal pre-start meetings and project progress meetings
  • Advising project teams on legal and contractual matters
  • Ensuring all commercial activities align with relevant health and safety regulations

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Experience managing project finances from tender to final account
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients

Garage Fleet Mechanic

Job description:

The Gelder Group is looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic. Applicants must have a minimum Level 2 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in Vehicle Repair.

This role would be based in our modern workshop in Sturton by Stow, Lincoln.

This rewarding role would suit someone who is highly motivated, organised and conscientious and works well in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Routine scheduled servicing of cars and vans in compliance to manufacture’s guidelines
  • General repairs and maintenance
  • Confident in using Vehicle Diagnostic equipment to fault find
  • Keeping workshop and surrounding areas clean and tidy
  • Completing paperwork thoroughly

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Smart and punctual
  • Excellent communicator: able to understand instructions and communicate effectively
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and deliver to strict timescales

Insurance Branch Manager Lincoln Office

Location: Lincoln
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

Gelder Group are looking for an experienced Branch Manager to head up the Insurance Repair and Renovation Department at their Head Office in Sturton by Stow. The successful candidate will have a wealth of experience in people/operations management and the construction industry. Experience in insurance work is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of a large team including recruitment and appraisal
  • Managing overall branch performance based on service level agreements including financial and customer satisfaction
  • Operations management, ensuring the team operates to Gelder standards
  • Offer strategic direction to promote sustainable future growth
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Apprentice Surveyor

Location: Lichfield
Department: Insurance, Repair & Renovation

Working hours: 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday

Apprenticeship duration: 30 months, employment and progression within the organisation may be possible upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

You will work for The Gelder Group as an Apprentice Surveyor. You will work for our Insurance Renovation and Repair division on various contracts ranging from private houses to commercial properties. This apprenticeship is for 2.5 years starting at Level 3.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to (full job role training will be provided);
