Description
Gelder Group recently completed and handed over 14 new affordable housing properties to Acis Group, a registered social landlord. The properties consist of a mix of 2 and 3-bedroom semi-detached properties and bungalows and are available for purchase under the Shared Ownership scheme.
The project started when Gelder Group identified a disused area of land that had potential for development. They approached Acis Group, who had a need for affordable housing in the area. Acis Group was impressed with Gelder Group’s expertise in construction services, including new builds, refurbishments, and civil engineering, and selected them as the construction partner for the project.
Gelder Group designed and built the properties with energy efficiency in mind, incorporating modern insulation techniques and efficient heating systems. The properties have also been designed to be adaptable for residents with disabilities, with level-access thresholds, wider doorways, and other features.
The development has brought much-needed affordable housing to the area and has supported the community to grow. Greg Bacon, Chief Executive at Acis Group, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the project: “We’re delighted to have worked in partnership with Gelder Group to bring a previously disused area of land back to life and support the community to grow.”
The success of the project demonstrates Gelder Group’s ability to deliver high-quality affordable housing solutions in partnership with social landlords. They remain committed to supporting communities and delivering construction projects that meet the needs of their clients.
