Gelder Group is delighted to have attended the official launch of InspireU, formerly known as YPLP, in Lincoln. This vital programme, commissioned by Lincolnshire County Council as part of Children’s Services, supports unemployed young people and those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) in building the skills and confidence they need to transition into the world of work.
The event was marked by an official unveiling of the new InspireU branding by Councillor Patricia Bradwell, OBE. Councillor Bradwell commended the programme’s transformative role in empowering young people across the county and emphasized the importance of partnerships between local employers and educational initiatives like InspireU.
As a dedicated partner, Gelder Group works closely with InspireU to provide meaningful work experience and employment opportunities for learners. This collaboration ensures that participants gain valuable real-world skills while contributing to Gelder Group’s diverse range of projects, including construction, maintenance, and environmental services.
InspireU offers tailored programmes for young people aged 16 to 19—or up to 24 for those with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)—on a flexible roll-on, roll-off basis throughout the year. By focusing on the individual skills and potential of each learner, InspireU delivers accessible and empowering opportunities that help young people achieve their aspirations.
“We are proud to work alongside InspireU to help create opportunities for young people in Lincolnshire,” said Steve Gelder, CEO at Gelder Group. “Offering work experience and employment to InspireU learners is not only an investment in their future but also strengthens our commitment to building an inclusive and skilled workforce in our community”
Through this collaboration, Gelder Group and InspireU are helping bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring that young people are equipped to thrive in their chosen careers. By aligning training with the needs of both learners and local employers, InspireU and its partners are making a lasting impact on Lincolnshire’s future.
