The new stone-cutting centre/facility will be built on our Sturton by Stow site, and will ensure Lincoln’s world-famous Cathedral will be kept in a good state of repair for centuries to come.
The new facility will be located on land to the east of the Head Office Complex (Pictured), house modern equipment for future cathedral projects, starting with the second stage of its Chapter House project, and more. Lincoln Cathedral is the only Cathedral to be listed in its entirety on English Heritage’s At Risk register, so the new facility will support this vital work and its drive to promote heritage skills.
The stone-cutting centre will boost efficiencies and reduce costs thanks to its ability to cut pieces to size and reduce wastage to virtually zero.
Work will commence in January and is due for completion in August 2025.
