Gelder Group is pleased to announce its partnership with Avena Environmental for the recycling of personal protective equipment (PPE) and workwear. This collaboration underscores Gelder Group’s commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management by ensuring that used PPE and workwear are recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.
Through this partnership, Gelder Group aims to reduce its environmental footprint by diverting waste from landfills and promoting circular economy practices. Avena Environmental, known for its expertise in sustainable recycling solutions, will handle the collection, processing, and recycling of these materials, helping Gelder Group to meet its sustainability goals and contribute to a greener future. Each month the Group are collecting around 8kg’s of PPE and workwear from its 3 locations.
Avena Environmental processes and recycles used PPE and workwear by sorting and recovering materials like textiles and plastics, which are then repurposed into products such as insulation materials, new fabrics, or plastic components, thereby minimising waste and reducing environmental impact.
