Gelder Group is proud to announce the successful completion of a work experience placement by Lewis Turner, a student from Aegir School, who joined the company in March 2024. During his time at Gelder Group, Lewis worked at the company’s head office, assisting in the stores department, where he gained valuable experience in managing deliveries, stock control, and warehouse operations. Building on this experience, Lewis has now successfully secured a new placement at Hill Holt Wood, a community-focused social enterprise known for its innovative approach to education, conservation, and sustainability.
During his placement at Gelder Group, Lewis contributed significantly to the efficient operation of the stores department. His tasks included receiving and organising deliveries, assisting with inventory control, and managing stock levels. His proactive attitude and willingness to learn made him an integral part of the team.
Following his successful placement at Gelder Group, Lewis has been offered a placement at Hill Holt Wood, where he will continue to develop his skills in a new and dynamic environment. Hill Holt Wood is a 200-acre woodland located near Norton Disney, Lincolnshire, dedicated to providing alternative education, training, and employment opportunities for young people, as well as promoting environmental conservation and sustainable living.
